WHERE IS ESTHER ARUNGA?

Television personality Esther Arunga is with her family and undergoing counselling by a well known city pschiatrist, the Star established yesterday.
Family sources who declined to be quoted said: “She is with her family and she is safe.”
They disclosed that Esther visited a city hospital for a check-up after her ordeal in the police station and was immediately released into the custody of her family. The sources said that since her return home, “Esther had changed her attitude” but did not give any further details.
Human rights lawyer Harun Ndubi, who rushed to the aid of Esther, jazz musician and self-confessed leader of the Finger of God church Joseph Hellon, little known music promoter Quincy Timberlake and five other church members when they were arrested had been in contact with Esther.
“I expected to see her in court on Monday together with the others. The last time l was with her was when she recording a statement at the CID headquarters. Since then I have been trying to get a hold of her. The last time I tried to call was Wednesday,” he said.
He said her parents were no longer asking questions about their daughter’s absence anymore. “This may be a broad scheme to which we are all unwitting players to disrupt the activities of The Finger Of God church. This is a case of powerful people using the police in Machiavellian ways and the police agreeing to be used,” he said.
He said the family should seek other means of helping their daughter. “Assuming she needed psychiatric attention, the family would have sought it through the judiciary instead of doing it at the cost of an individual’s freedom.”
Ndubi said it was ‘curious’ that the head of investigation in the serious offences Unit had been assigned to investigate what was a “non-crime.”

HELLON ON K24

Joseph Hellon the jail bird jazz player was on K24 spewing Bible verses and defaming a number of people.
First up was Big Kev whom he says is on his death bed. According to Hellon, Kev's head is filling with blood and is on the verge of dying. Apparently, Big Kev called him on a private line and confessed that he was out to destroy him and that he is sorry.
The saxophonist denied Quincy Timberlake - the dude he endorsed to marry Former KTV news anchor Esther Arunga - has a wife. He claims Quincy's wife, Salome Gideon has been paid to pose as such. Shaking my head.
Another weird statement from the founder of Finger Of God church involved US televangelist Benny Hinn's pending divorce case.
Hellon said with certainty that Suzanne Hinn is planing to come and sue Kenyan media for publishing her divorce story. Hello, unless it's a grand conspiracy, Benny will be a divorcee sooner that Hellon can come up with a manifesto for his 2012 presidential bid.
Just as Jeff Koinange, kept asking Hellon if he is a raving lunatic, Hellon went ahead to say that come 2012, he will be firmly in State House ready to rule Kenya as the president alongside Quincy the as PM and Esther as VP *muffled sniffles* reality TV has never been this good and that he will finance his campaign solo. Thanks to the Pepsi Cola deal coming his way and the December Euro Jazz tour.
Driving an even deeper knife into the strained relationship he has with Esther's parents he said that Esters parents are 'making up for their past mistakes'.
Jesus take the wheel...

ESTHER ORDERED BY JUDGE TO GO FOR COUNSELING

Ex-TV presenter Esther Arunga was ordered to go see a shrink for counseling on Monday while controversial Jazz player who gets a down grade from maestro Joseph Hellon and five followers were arraigned in and charged with being members of unlawful society, the Finger of God Church.
The other members accused alongside Hellon were Quincy Zuma Timberlake, Samuel Onyango, Fredrick Onyango, Vincent Onyango, Grace Njii and Veronica Agape Koteng'o.
But the six through lawyer Harun Ndubi declined to plead to the accusations, saying the charge did not disclose any offense.
Now, they will be remanded in custody till Tuesday when Mr Mutembei will decide whether to dismiss or admit the charge against them.
If found guilty, the court heard, the accused could serve a one year jail term or pay a fine of not more than Sh5 million.
Capital FM report that Esther might be used as a prosecution witness in the case.

MEET QUINCY TIMBERLAKE: THE ELUSIVE CHARACTER

IN my very first piece about the Esther-Hellon cult/con saga in The Star. I alluded to the fact that the two were smack in the middle of a con scam.
They were zealous pawns used by a guy who had read up on them big time and knew everything about them.
He knew Hellon was a big believer of miracles and has always considered Benny Hinn as a spiritual mentor.
On Sunday i meet up with a source who know where Quincy Timberlake lived and had been his buddy for a year or so.
My source said,"Quincy always looked at Esther on TV and said she is a chic he would like to get with. During Project Fame, when we were having our boy talks, he would root for Patricia.Like most Kenyan jamaas he had a thing for Esther."
I also found out that Quincy has a wife with whom she has two sons with. They have been together for 11 years.
It is therefore funny that an email from 'Benny Hinn' asked Hellon to break Esther's engagement months to their wedding with Wilson Malaba.
Anyho, the wife was super shaken when i broke the news to her that Esther was on TV saying she is dating Quincy.
“Quincy is my boyfriend," she said,"You learn to love imperfect people perfectly.“
Just so you know Quincy has many aliases, when he was in Kanda King's band he was a Congolese known as Dezato, with the late Krupt he was Fizzle Dogg now with Hellon and comapny he is Quincy Timberlake, (a.k.a Zuma Wambita) a half caste of a South African mum and Luo dad.

ESTHER ARUNGA ARRESTED FOR BELONGING TO ILLEGAL GROUP

Former TV queen Esther Arunga was on Sunday arrested alongside the church’s head pastor Joseph Hellon, Quincy Timberlake and eight other followers in a night raid at the Finger Of God home in Nairobi’s Runda estate.

They were questioned at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters after spending the night at separate police stations.

Esther was held at the Muthaiga station with four others including two secondary school students. The others were held at the Gigiri police station.

They were arrested on allegations of belonging to an illegal group, but their lawyer Harun Ndubi said the church is registered. Police spokesman Eric Kiraithe said detectives were investigating “serious allegations.”

Esther’s parents turned up at the Muthaiga station but declined to speak to journalists.

THIS MAN HELLON: HISTORY OF THE FINGER OF GOD APOSTLE

The best way to learn the history of a person is to go back to his roots. The Daily Nation ran a story on Hellon's mother Rebecca Owuor Onyango. Mrs Onyago speaks in awe of the son who `healed' her high blood pressure .
Hellon is smack in the middle of the Esther Arunga dramatic life decisions that saw her quit her job, break her engagement to her fiance a month before the wedding and isolate her from family and friends.
the tidbits i got from the story include stuff like, Hellon was a staunch follower of the Seventh Day Adventist and at age five he started reciting Bible verses while in Standard five.
The Saturday Nation wrote: "Hellon grew up in a world of poverty, a far cry from the glitter and pomp he lives in now. One can still see traces of his past life in his Kokuro village home, located a few kilometers from Awendo Town. His mother still lives in the semi-permanent house he grew up in. To supplement the support he gives her, she sells omena to her neighbours. His simba (traditional hut) stands desolate in the compound. He has not slept there for years and it is now used as worship place for his faithful."
the 35-year-old Jazz player learnt to play the sax at Starehe Boys Centre and has recruited all his family members into his church. His simba at the home is now being used as the church since no- body stays in it.

BENNY HINN DENIES EMAILING HELLON

Now, as you all know, The Finger Of God International has been claiming they have been incommunicado with US televangelist Benny Hinn.
The leader of the church Jazz player and Tusker Project Fame teacher Joseph Hellon said at a press conference on Thursday that Benny Hinn is his spiritual leader.

In addition to that, he suspended a member of his church and sent his an SMS that read: "Benny Hinn and I have been talking and the Lord has revealed these things through our talks. Your wedding is nullified. You can’t fight against the Lord and succeed!"

An email from the Benny Hinn ministry handlers claim they did not know anything about it.
Meanwhile in other Benny Hinn news, His wife Suzzane is divorcing him, Why? I don't know.
Suzzane filled for divorce on February 1. The couple married in 1979 and have three daughters and a son, according to a biography on posted on the website for Benny Hinn Ministries.
The silver-haired Hinn is one of the world's most financially successful faith healers.
He lives in a multimillon-dollar home and has flown around the world in a leased Gulfstream jet to lead his "Miracle Crusades," during which tens of thousands of followers have packed stadiums and auditoriums to hear Hinn preach about the Gospel and God's healing powers.

ABBAS CALLS OUT CHIWAWA

For a while now Abbas and Chiwawa have been bossom buddies, boyz, peoples, ride or die bros, and any other name you can use to describe hip hop friendships, but this changed. Media reports claim that Abbas accuses Chiwawa for being instrumental at breaking up his marriage to rapper Baby Gangsta.
This claims, Chiwawa has rubbished. He hasn't cared to expound them on at all. All i know is that Chiwawa was the one who introduce Abbas to Baby Gangsta and he was the best man at their wedding.
With that backgroud you will probably understand whey Abbas put Chiwawa on blast today morning on his Facebook status update. He wrote: "That stupid ball-less puppy named "chiwawa" is gonna get the wrath of my lyrical blowz!!...tell that rabbid flea-bag im on to his neck!
This is not the first time Abbas having beef with another artiste, he nicknamed Jua Cali 'Solar Boy' for a number of reasons.
I don't know how this will end...keep it here for more on this....

ESTHER INVESTED HALF A MILLIE IN HELLON'S COMPANY

The on going Hellon-Esther-cult fiasco is unraveling with new info daily. Apparently the ex-TV personality Esther Arunga sunk in a good Sh500,000 in a company she co owns with Saxophonist Joseph Hellon called People's Choice.
According to an angry SMS sent to Esther's fiance, Hellon wrote :" You’ve been demanding for sex from Esther. You have her logbook. You’ve been asking her to demand 500k that she put in people music and to sell her shares to you at the spa!"
This is part of the SMS that lead to Wilson Malaba suing Hellon.
Anyho, apart from just been business partners, Esther and Hellon will be running for top offices in the country. Hellon aims at applying for the big job in Kenya, the President and Esther for Vice president come 2012.

ALAN SHEARER IN KENYA FOR SPORTS RELIEF CHARITY

Former England captain Alan Shearer put his boots back on during a trip to Kenya where he visited a Sport Relief and Premier League funded project, which cares for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.

The Newcastle striker took part in a match with the children over the weekend. The chance to play with the former hot-shot was a dream come true for the youngsters who are all avid followers of English football.
Before the match Shearer toured the Omega project, Kisumu that supports the children - with food, clothes, fuel and access to education all being provided.

After the game Shearer, said: "There are children here who have been forced to grow up way ahead of their time because of the devastation caused by HIV/AIDS.
"Kids as young as 14 and 15 looking after brothers and sisters half their age because they have lost both parents to the disease.
"Having seen how many of them are being given the practical help they need to cope by this project I really hope people will get behind Sport Relief next month."
As for his on-field performance, Shearer could not deny how much he had enjoyed having a ball at his feet again.
"It was fantastic to be able play with the lads here - you can see how much they love the game and what an important part it plays in their otherwise extraordinarily tough lives."
"There's some talent on show too and I had to really work to compete with some of them. I managed to sneak one in though and it felt just as good to score as it did during my playing days."

THE MANY FACES OF LUKANDO

With Lukando now jetting off to New York with M-Net to participate in New York Fashion Week, courtesy of Arise magazine, attention will now move to how she fares in the Big Apple, and over the next two weeks.
Meanwhile here are the many different faces of the Zambia winner of 2010’s Mnet Face Of Africa.

THE GLAMOUR AT THE MNET FINALS

On Saturday February 6, in a stylish haute couture showcase 22-year-old Lukando Nalungwe from Zambia joined an exclusive group of winners when she was named the eighth and newest M-Net Face of Africa. The striking model scooped USD 50 000 from M-Net along with a modeling contract from O Model Africa and skincare products for 12 months from Iman Cosmetics.

Re-invention and innovation are hot buzzwords for the global fashion community and in a two-hour show, screened live from Lagos to 47 countries across Africa, M-Net presented a bold new vision for the Face of Africa Final opting for an edgier version of a traditional runway show and presenting the models on a black, floor-based runway in a contemporary warehouse.
With the Final themed to resemble the loading warehouse of an art museum, where precious gallery pieces are prepared for display, the staging included massive cargo boxes stamped with African destinations with extra-ordinary sized gold frames that showcased the fashion and the finalists; and packaging tape demarcating the runway from the show’s seated guests, it was a uniquely fresh approach to showcasing Afro-chic expression.
Hosted by Studio 53’s Fareed Khimani (Kenya) and former Face of Africa Kaone Kario (Botswana) with a guest appearance by last season’s Face of Africa Kate Menson (Ghana), the finale included entertainment from Nigerian superstar D’banj belting out his hits Suddenly and Fall in Love.
Meanwhile soulful South African songstress Lira, shimmering in green silk, showed why she’s one of Africa’s rising stars with two brilliant performances of her hits Feel Good and Believer!
But the night belonged to the TOP 10 – and from the minute that Nigeria’s Marvis kicked off the show, followed in rapid success by Tholakele (Zimbabwe), Lilian (Tanzania), Esperanca (Angola), Thembi (South Africa), Blessing (Nigeria), Rosanna (Zimbabwe), Diana (Kenya), Ernania (Mozambique) and Lukando (Zambia), it was very clear just who the stars of the show really were.
Showing how much they’ve learnt during the Face of Africa search, which DStv audiences have been following for 15 weeks, the Face of Africa TOP 10 hit the catwalk with confidence, graceful as they strode down the catwalk resplendent in garments designed by the best of African designers.
Commenting on the event, M-Net MD Biola Alabi congratulated Lukando on her win saying,
“It’s an incredible thing to watch someone’s life literally change in front of your eyes and when it happens live in front of a continent, it is remarkable and a very special moment. We are very proud of Lukando and all of the TOP 10 for their determination and focus and want to thank them for sharing this journey so openly.”

WHEN A LAW ABIDING CITIZEN GOES MANIACAL

The movie, Law Abiding Citizen is a bloody thriller about the well planned vengeance plan of Clyde Shelton ( Gerald Butler) after he watched his family murdered. To make the already horrific situation worse, prosecutor Nick Rice ( Jamie Foxx) offers one of the suspects caught a lighter sentence for testifying against his partner, much to dismay of Clyde . A decade after loosing his family, Clyde orchestrates his elaborate game of revenge from inside a prison cell.
You can't help and root for Clyde as he turns into a maniacal killing machine as he leaves behind a bloody trail of murder. His shift from a helpless widower who is an underdog screwed up by the justice system is quick.
Clyde's role is played quite well giving the movie the much needed oomph but the prosecutor, played by Jamie is unconvincing. To start with, The whole situation was caused due by the deal made to let off one of the murdered in a bid to keep up his 96 percent conviction rate.
And through out the movie, you don't get the feeling of remorse at the miscarriage of justice. Even the mayor doesn't get what the bloodlettings is all about. In addition, then you don't even get to know who or what Chester does, a key character that uncovered Clyde's well laid out plans of revenge.
The details of his job history are revealed, during a secret meeting in a tunnel somewhere, late in the movie. however, the clever part of the movie comes from the cleverly rigged explosions and executions.
Law Abiding Citizen is rated R. If you haven't watched it, rush to your nearest video store or shop and get yourself the movie. Personally i hate the ending. Clyde was short changed big time.
