STRAIGHT SHOOTING NAVIO SIGNED TO MUSIC LABEL

Ugandan rapper Navio has been signed to music label that has an A-list clientele. Talent 256 headed by Aly Alibhai signed the seventh act to their fold. The controversial rapper who called Kenyan celebrities ‘pretentious’ said that the move was a step towards achieving his goals in his music career.
The Rukus rapper who was in the country last years during the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) Nominees party did not shy away from calling Kenyan celebrities on their game.
“From the way I see it, they are quite pretentious (especially) in front of the camera, (they) smile with each other but behind the scenes they are enemies. Like at the MTV nominee party some random artiste just walked up to me (and started) to talk about his Lamborghini for about ten minutes. That is when it hit me; they would go to extreme measures to get noticed. They are mostly in this music industry for the fame not for the love of music. Which is very sad and shouldn't be the case.”
He also stayed a week to promote his latest album Half The Legend during his stay in Kenya.
Other acts signed by the label include Blu3 and Michael Ross. The talent company is also famed for hosting big and successful gig by international acts like Jamaican ragga star Beenie Man and American heartthrob Joe.

GORY PICS OF CHAMELEONE'S LEGS AFTER SURGERY

Ugandan singer Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone had an operation last year October after he fell down three floors at a hotel in Arusha.
When asked what happened Chameleone could not explain how the accident occurred. The singer recalled that he had entered his hotel room after his music show, changed clothes and slept. But he was shocked to find himself on the first floor of the hotel an hour later surrounded by people who were screaming ‘thief’.
“When I tried to move, I could not get up,” Chameleone told The New Vision. “I was in great pain. I think both of my legs were broken. I identified myself as Jose Chameleone. That is when some onlookers rushed to call my tour promoters.” His promoters took him to Arusha Hospital, where he contacted his wife to charter an Eagle Air plane at $9,000 (about Sh 639,000) to evacuate him. He was airlifted from Kilimanjaro Airport to Entebbe Airport.
A Dr. Kenneth Obwot, who was on the team that evacuated the singer, attributed Chameleone’s accident to sleepwalking. He said Chameleone could have gotten up in his dreams and walked through the glass windows. The singer was alone in the room and the door was locked. Obwot noted that the accident could have been fatal. The fact that the singer does a lot of exercise could have saved his life, he added.
Look see two of his post op photos of his legs, or you can click here and here

GAETANO AVOIDS A MEDIA SCRUM DURING WEDDING

Gaetano Weds

TV personality Gaetano Kaggwa finally married his fiancée Enid Keishemeza Rukikaire in Kampala a while back. In true Gaetano fashion, he went against the norm and decided to have his wedding on a Thursday instead of the usual Saturday.
Media reports based on misleading leaks had stated that the couple would be jumping the broom on a Saturday. These false trails were probably put about after the couple had earlier been forced to put off their nuptials originally slated for June in Kampala to hide away from the media attention.
All the same we did find out that Gaetano and his sweetheart secretly said their vows at a garden ceremony at Ranch On The Lake.
Here is some photos courtesy of the Oboma Social Forum.

They Say Chameleone Isn’t Out Of Danger…Yet

Sections of the Ugandan press claim that Jose Chameleone medical troubles are still looming large. They claim that medical experts have warned him against wearing closed shoes. The singer broke both his legs in a mysterious ‘sleep walking’ saga in a hotel in Arusha a few months back. Worst still, the tabloid claims that a doctor sent Chameleone’s wife, Daniela Atim a text message stating that the hubby would die soon.
The message read: ‘I’m really sorry your husband won’t live to see his beautiful kids grow.
He either tons down (on his energetic stage performances) or he will die.’
They then even quote a lip readers who says that Daniella whispered into Chameleone’s ear (during a past concert) that:
“Can’t you think about your kids for a moment?”.

That is like the biggest bull cr*p I have ever read. Hooooooly cow!
What do you think?

Last Saturday’s scheduled Kampala show by American celebrities Naught By Nature did not happen. The organisers behind it, Ugandan rapper Navio and KT Promotions failed to raise the down payment requested by the international stars. According to Ugandan reports, Navio – real name Daniel Kigozi - failed to raise his part of the contribution that was to go into the down payment fee. This was because his mother who was also part financier of the deal also balked at paying up.
