DID SADE VISITS KENYA FOR INSPIRATION?
International soul musician Sade Adu travelled incognito to the Kenyan coast last October. Our people in Lamu whispered to us that she stayed at the prestigious Peponi Hotel a.k.a Peponis. The Smooth Operator legend kept a low profile and was in the company of a small entourage of about three people.
Sade chose Peponis mostly for it’s small and personal attributes; it is also the perfect hide away holiday from modern life.
Anyhow, musically, Sade has also kept a low profile – her last album came out ten years ago. According to reports the band members, Andrew Hale, Paul Spencer Denmann and Stuart Matthewman began recording in June in the UK but “remained at work in the studio throughout October putting final touches on the new LP.”
This is also about the same time she visited the serene Lamu Island. Did she get the inspiration she needed? Well, she is set to release her 6th album Soldier of Love come February 9, 2010.
The album cover shows Sade with her back to the camera gazing over beautiful landscape – it could be Lamu.
