The 2008 Idols had a reunion in Kenya Well, the Idol’s reunion concert dubbed Ziki Idol’s Blast attracted a handful of people on September 18.
The Idols Samantha Rufaro, Adiona Maboreke, Ammara Brown, Faycal Ngeruka and Trinah Chisanga, Mkuhuli Bhebe, Christine Apondi and Cynthia Kuto were joined by the first Idols East and Central Africa winner Eric Moyo.
However the first runners up, Nicollete Kiige was missing in action due to her ‘school schedule’.

AMMARA SIGNS A THREE-ALBUM RECORD DEAL

Idols contestant Ammara Brown will be in Nairobi on Monday 14 for the Idols reunion tour dubbed Ziki Idols Blast. She has clinched a three-album record deal with Soulful Entertainment. Ammara cooed said, “My contract is for the next three albums.”
The 20-year-old joins the label that also houses musical goliaths like Metro FM’s Naked DJ - the biggest hip-hop DJ in South Africa, Y FM DJs The Twins, as well as Channel O VJs Young Gifted and African.
Ammara has already recorded a number of singles for her yet to be named debut album. They are Willo, a RnB pop song, Hotta, a ragga-RnB track, I Release Us, a ballad and It’s Alright, a hip hop song.

UGANDAN IDOL EXPLAINS HIS INVOLVEMENT IN TPF3

Lady charmer Faycal Birikunzira will soon be in Kenya for the Idol East and Southern Africa reunion tour.
The tour dubbed Ziki Idol Blast will go down on September 18, will give the 2008 Idols a chance to prove they are real Idols show their fans what they have been up to.
It was therefore a bit of a contradiction when he took part in another music reality show, Tusker Project Fame 3, during the Rwanda audition phase.
Faycal said, “One of the judge gave me a call asking me if I could join so then the people will get interested and maybe by the time Tusker might come back people will have had an idea on what is all about and join as many as possible.”
Faycal has already done a number of tracks one of which is a song about the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda featuring Nameless, jail bird TID, Blu3 and Kidum.

ZIMBABWEAN IDOLS MKHULULI TO RECORD WITH KENYAN R KAY

Most of y'all remember Idols contestant Mkhululi Bhebhe as the ‘Man with the Fro’, well he will be jetting into the country on August 14 to record with renowned producer R Kay.
Mkhululi plans to finish recording 10 songs in readiness for the Idols reunion tour in Kenya dubbed Ziki Idols Blast set for September 20.
The top 10 finalists will be in the country from winner Eric Moyo (Zimbabwe), Adiona Maboreke (Zimbabwe), Ammara Brown (Zimbabwe), Christine Apondi (Kenya), Cynthia Kuto (Kenya), Faycal Birikunzira (Uganda), Nicollette Kiige (Uganda), Samantha Mogwe (Botswana) and Trinah Chisanga (Zambia).
This reunion sponsored by Zain will be a chance for the Idols top 10 finalists to show their fans what they have been up to since they last all met.
