Look Out For Drummer Queen's Friday Release Is ReConditioned
Y'all know that the queen has changed the way albums are released.
On Friday October 18th 2013, the Kenyan rapper / drummer / singer / entrepreneur extraordinaire Muthoni the Drummer Queen set off on a 10 week journey to share what she calls her ‘lessons for success’, in form of a well written and produced hip hop album titled MDQ.
MDQ is a 10-track Hip Hop Album, written and performed entirely by the Drummer Queen, and produced and arranged by Switzerland based GR! And Hook at Sand Stone studios, over an intense 16-day lock out session in June 2013.
80% of the music on the record features heavy hip hop samples and beats, as well as an infectious rap flow that the Drummer Queen (who has done afro soul, alternative and even electronic sounds in previous records) is now slowly becoming synonymous for.
The album's very unique release project see's one song released per week, every Friday over 10 weeks, for online download / purchase. To get the songs, fans in Kenya simply need to send a Text Message with the Song Code of the week ( corresponding ‘MDQ1’ thought to 'MDQ10') to 20270, and they receive an exclusive download link to own the song directly on their mobile phones.
So this Friday, Muthoni will be releasing the 3rd song off the MDQ album, ReConditioned, a story about the ups and downs of making music as a life, and how the observation and interpretation of the peculiarity in the human race that she talked about in her 2009 album The Human Condition shaped the beginning of MDQ’s new musical conditioning.
Starting 01.11.13, the song is also available for download by simply texting ‘MDQ3’ to 20270 to get your copy of ReConditioned sent directly to your phone.
