Amstel Malta has joined forces with Africa Magic, in association with MultiChoice to stage the first edition of the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Adedoyin Owotomo, Brand Manager, Amstel Malta said in a release, at the core of the brand is the conviction that everyone has what it takes to be the best. The brand therefore believes in providing platforms that not only give opportunities to young talented individuals but also inspiration.

Biola Alabi, commended the partnership with Amstel Malta. “At M-Net, we look forward to walking this path with Nigerian Breweries and we believe that our strong relationship will be a long standing and mutually beneficial one.

She also encouraged other artistes thus: “This also a medium to reach out to every individual that is part of this industry either directly or otherwise. Do not be disappointed if you do not hear your name in any of the categories, it doesn’t mean your work is not recognized or appreciated. Contrary to that, your input is noticed and deeply appreciated.”

Voting commenced for the viewing audience on Monday, January 28, it closes at midnight CAT on Sunday, March 3, 2013. Viewers can vote via SMS, WAP and also via the Africa Magic website (
