MI-FONE SPONSORS AFRICA LEADERSHIP NETWORK IN GHANA

Africa’s mobile devices brand, Mi-Fone, is one of the major sponsors in this year’s Africa Leadership Network (ALN) 3rd Annual Gathering to be held from 10th – 13th October 2012 at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, in Accra, Ghana.

The Annual Gathering is ALN’s flagship event which every year brings together over 300 young dynamic new generation leaders such as Mi-Fone CEO Alpesh Patel from 40 African countries for three days to build collaborations aimed at unlocking high-potential opportunities in the continent.

Commenting on the essence of the conference, Alpesh said that he has been a firm believer that business in Africa can be conducted ethically, legally and transparently.

“ This is one of the reasons ALN has been so exciting for me – meeting other new generation thinkers who also believe and know that money is not made but earned, that one has to work hard,” added Alpesh.

Alpesh presented Mi-Fone at the ALN annual gathering in Addis Ababa in 2011. He received an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience as he talked about Africa’s potential for growth in the Telecoms sector over the next few years – a potential that rivals that of China and India.

According to the ALN website, this year’s event will be attended by a stellar list of high-profile African leaders including Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Halemariam Desalegn, Zimbabwe Deputy Prime Minister, Arthur Mutambara, Nigerian businessman Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and British-Nigerian Actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Key highlights on the agenda include The Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship Gala Awards ceremony to recognize Africa’s most impressive entrepreneurs. The most prestigious African business Awards, dubbed the ‘Oscars of business’ in Africa, the Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship is this year in its sixth year of existence.

Participants at the conference will carry home Mi-Fone merchandise comprising Mi Q100 loaded with Africa’s diverse music, poetry and comedy from artistes such as Kenya’s Liz Ogumbo, as well as Mi-Fone branded t-shirts.

Mi-Fone are also importing brand ambassador Conrad Gray alias DJ G-Money from Kenya to broadcast his daily Homeboyz Radio breakfast show from Ghana and also to appear as the guest DJ at the closing event for the conference hosted by Mi Fone. Commenting on this opportunity, Jamaican national G- Money said he is honored to be part of this conference as well as part of a growing African brand.

“I have always wanted to visit Ghana for its history and being able to combine that trip with such great young business minds is awesome. I hope to learn a lot at this conference,” said G Money.
