CHECK OUT KENYA'S GUN TOTING CELEBS

Back in 2009, Tanzaninan rapper, Mheshimiwa Temba raised eyebrows when photos of him pointing an AK-47 at a camera, as his photo was being taken, leaked to the net.

Apparently, the self proclaimed leader of the Tanzanian hip-hop group TMK Wanaume, took the photo in Monrovia, Liberia, when he was in the city during the First Anniversary Independence celebrations.

Joining the gun totting list of celebs are some Kenyans and other African personalities.

As for Eric Wainaina, his "packing heat" is not out of show and tell but rather for a good cause. The gun he has is an escopetarra, a guitar made from a modified gun, used as a peace symbol. The name is derived from the Spanish words escopeta (shotgun) and guitarra (guitar).

Escopetarras were invented by Colombian peace activist César López in 2003 at a gathering after the El Nogal Club bombing in Bogotá, when he noticed a soldier holding a gun like a guitar.

Here are some more African celebs with guns...
