This week Channel O presents the first O News special which will be jam-packed with the latest Original African music and entertainment news from across Africa, brought to you by Kenya's Channel O VJ Joey.
Mavin Records is Nigeria's newest label headed up by one of Africa's greatest producers and the most followed on twitter, Don Jazzy. Some of Naija' s biggest Dr Sid, Wande Coal, D Prince and Tiwa Savage are all part of Mavin Records. This week O News gives viewers a sneak peak of Channel O VJ Denrele trying to get into the minds of the Mavin team. Channel O will later schedule its first ever 24-minute special on O News where Denrele sits with the Mavin Crew.
O News will also feature Kenya's Habida, who is best-known for her award-winning collaboration with Nameless. She will be dishing on her new musical sound and what prompted the change.
Former M-Net Big Brother housemate Hanni from Ethiopia was a guest performer at this year's Big Brother StarGame's eviction Show. O News talks to her and follows how her musical career has developed since she left the Big Brother House. Tune in to O-News this Friday at 10PM.
Viewers can round off their musical weekend with a screening of Wizkid Live in London. He is one of Africa's biggest superstars and recently signed on to Akon's Konvict record label. In this four-part special that is currently being screened, Channel O goes behind the scenes of Wizkid's recent performance in London where he filled up the Apollo Hammersmith in London. Tune on Sunday at 8PM.
