ALWAYS NO CHECK CHECK DANCE OFF COMPETITION
Always, the leading brand in sanitary pad in Kenya today announced 100 contestants who will participate in the ‘Always No Check Check Dance-Off’ Competition. The competition is giving girls aged 12-18 years a chance to show case talent and celebrate confidence through dance.
Speaking during the shortlist selection process, the Always Brand Manager, Riccardo Cele said that, during puberty, girls tend to suffer from low self-esteem more so during their periods. Dancing which is an ideal way of self expression gives the girls an opportunity to not just enjoy themselves but also display their confidence though music and dance. This is very reflective of our culture as Africans.
The 2010 edition of the ‘Always No Check Check Dance-Off’ is set to be even more exciting with an entirely new format where each qualifying contestant with three of her friends will perform a dance routine using the ‘Always No Check No Stain’ jingle.
The contestants who have been selected from across the country shall compete to win cool prizes such as tuition grants, branded merchandise and an opportunity to appear on national TV, another confidence boosting opportunity.
Always, the world’s leader in feminine protection is dedicated to helping girls embrace womanhood positively; from the very beginning of puberty through to their adult lives.
Over the years, Always has supported girls in schools by providing sanitary pads through the ‘Always Keeping Girls in School Program’ in partnership with the Ministry of education. This program not only provides free sanitary pads to 20,000 girls but also educates them on information on puberty, how to handle themselves during their menses as well as how to use and dispose off the sanitary pads.
According to Riccardo, ‘Always is committed to living up to its brand’s promise of being a constant friend who bonds and helps girls enjoy being girls even when their bodies are changing.’
The ‘Always No Check Check Dance-Off’ Competition is scheduled to take place on Saturday 27th November at the Central Park, opposite Serena Hotel in Nairobi.
