WINYO IS 1ST KENYAN NOMINEE IN RFI 2010 MUSIC AWARD


Polycarp Onyango, aka Winyo made his debut appearance at the Alliance Française gardens in July 2010. Now he is among the nominees for the Radio France International Awards. Winyo is a singer/songwriter and guitarist who derives his musical strength from traditional Luo melodies. He will be competing against Tanzania’s AY, Swaziland’s Bholoja, Guinée’s Elie Kamano, Koppo (Cameroun), Lexxus Legal (RDC), Mao Otayeck (Côte d’Ivoire), Maurice Kirya (Uganda), Sandra Cordeiro (Angola), and Smockey (Burkina Faso).
