CHOKORA – Dustbin Celebrities



A brand new Kenyan Musical combining Kenyan Urban and Roots Music will be staged to commemorate the Day of the African Child. This Musical presents the other side of street children that we never think about. It highlights their hopes, hearts, minds, feelings, ambitions and dreams.
CHOKORA is a mixed media production, involving dance, music and screen.

Children with talent, ambition and dreams! Experience and enjoy this Musical featuring Machizi (Victor Ochieng Juma and Samwel Okango Andeso) as a life example of street children who pursued their dreams. Orphans from the Laini SaBa Project (LAPCA) – based in Kibera – perform Poetry and Storytelling.

It will be going down on Tuesday 16th June 2008, 6.00 pm and Wednesday 17th June 2008, 6.00 pm at the GOETHE-INSTITUT Auditorium. Entry free.
