Kenyans missing at the International Jazz festival

Unlike last year where Valerie Kimani represented Kenya at the annual Johannesburg International Jazz Festival, the upcoming (and more prestigious) Cape Town International Jazz festival next month will have no Kenyan acts appear. This year’s festival will feature 40 international and African acts gathering at the Cape Town Convention Center to celebrate what is now known as ” Africa’s grandest gathering”. This year’s line-up of artists include: Dianne Reeves, Mos Def, Zap Mama, Jonathan Butler, Hugh Masekela, Freshly Ground, Abigail Kubeka, Al Foster Quartet, Arturo Lledo, Dave Liebman Quartet, UK based band the Incognito, France based Magic Malik, Napalma and Ringo Madlingozi among others.
