PROJECT FAME ALUMNI REUNITE IN GHANA

What many thought will be a ceremonious outing for all three MTN Project Fame West Africa
winners turned out to be a reunion of some sort.
“It was so much fun seeing Kesse and Christian again, it felt like we were back at the studio,
I was really excited” Chidinma Project Fame 2010 winner disclosed after she returned from
Ghana with fellow champions Iyanya and Mike on Sunday April 10, 2011.
Chidinma Ekile, Iyanya Mbuk and Mike Anyasodo stormed Ghana in the company of their managers, publicists and MTN officials for the Ghana Music Awards, and did not only receive warm welcomes on the yellow carpet, but were also invited to Y FM.
“The highest point of the trip for me was visiting 107.9 Y FM; we met with a lot of radio
presenters. And I didn’t know we had loads of fans in Ghana, it was so much fun”

Iyanya on the other hand says, “I really had fun, we all hooked up with Damilola, this is someone I met during the competition in 2008, and I haven’t seen her since then. It’s also good to see that the music industry is booming in West Africa” They also met with Kesse, and Christian at MJ Grand Hotel where they posed for pictures and played catch up.

Other notable faces from Nigeria present at the Ghana Music awards include 2face, Sam
Onyemelukwe, Emem Ema, Ice Prince, Keke, D1 and Sunday Aare.
Up next? Sources say the trio of Iyanya, Chidinma and Mike are warming up to attending MTN South Africa Music Awards holding in a matter of weeks... Mmh, some photos from the week that was...

IYANYA READY FOR SECOND ALBUM

The past months have been rough and hard; with the loss of Iyanya's mother, and his only brother.
Now alone and in the cold, the singer is holding tight to his music – his only source of warmth and hope.
And after months of working hard to find his voice again, the ladies’ man is back in full circulation, getting ready for his second body of work.
With two singles already rocking radioland, and a video for I’m The One already on the way, the first-ever PFWA winner says he’s grabbing 2011 with both arms, putting his best foot forward to make sure he records a spectacular outing this year.
‘I’ve practically been living in the studios for months now’, says Iyanya, who recently signed up with Lagos-based label Buzz Avenue. ‘It’s been a period of mixed blessings for me – on one hand I’m getting such amazing support for my career, and I’m humbled by the growth I’ve recorded since I won Project Fame in 2008. But on the other hand, I’ve had to deal with the loss of my entire family: My dad, my brother, and my mom. It’s really more than I can handle, but I thank my friends, fans and the media for standing firm by me’.

Now putting all that behind, and working to make his departed ones proud, Iyanya has teamed up with Wazbeats, TY Mix and other producers to develop an album that he says ‘everyone will be proud of’.
As a sign of some of the stuff to come, he paired up with Rita Isokhen (of Koko Mansion fame) last December, to deliver a dramatic performance during the Rick Ross concert in Lagos.
‘We’re thinking outside the boss’, he says. ‘And that will reflect in everything you see on this new album; from my style, to the music, the videos and performances…’The singer’s yet-to-be-titled second album is expected in a matter of months.
