Maggie Sottero Officially Launches In East Africa Through Partnership With Sidai Brides

Brides in East Africa can now walk down the aisle in the wedding gown of their dreams from renowned international designer Maggie Sottero, without having to travel overseas to purchase one. Sidai Brides, a Kenyan start-up located in the lush Runda Estate, is the official distributor of Maggie Sottero gowns in East Africa and parts of sub-Saharan Africa.

The distributorship deal will give brides in the region the opportunity to select the gown of their choice from the latest collections in the global market. The partnership with Sidai Brides makes Kenya the second country in Africa, after South Africa that Maggie Sottero has established presence in.

“Due to globalization and a growing middle class in Kenya, demand for designer wedding gowns has shot up locally. The fashion forward ladies want to wear the latest collection from their designer of choice,” Wairimu Mwai, Sidai Brides Proprietor said during a Trunk Show held at the Sankara Nairobi to showcase the latest gowns collection.

“By being the authorized retailer for Maggie Sottero designs we will be able to provide the latest bridal attire in the global market, saving brides time and money they would have spent to travel to Dubai or South Africa for one,” Ms. Mwai added.

The Trunk Show was held to showcase the new Maggie Soterro Designs Fall 2017 line of wedding gowns as well as to create awareness that the designer brand is available locally and thus eliminates the need for brides to travel oversees or to South Africa to purchase the gowns.

Karen De Villers, Maggie Sottero Africa Representative said during the Trunk Show that this partnership is part of the designer’s plan to grow its presence in Africa due to growing demand over the last few years.

“What this means is that a bride in Nairobi can walk down the aisle with the same gown as a bride in Paris or New York. Through Sidai Brides they can also order a customized gown and receive it on time,” she added.

The Trunk Show will be running for the next one week 7th July – 14th July in Nairobi. Brides have this opportunity to book an appointment and place their orders at a one time offer of 10% off all gowns. An appointment fee of Ksh 2,500 will be charged and redeemable once the order has been made.

The designer gowns retail from around Ksh 100,000. The Sottero gowns are designed to accommodate tastes of all brides from modern to tradition styles with a touch of sophistication.
