Today, a number of Nation Media Group employees will be laid off due to the companies new strategy.
In press statement, the media company plans to "transform the group into a modern 21st Century digital content company embracing a digital/mobile first business model."
As such, their TV stations, NTV and QTV will merge "into a strong multi-lingual television station under NTV."
The radio stations, Nation FM, QFM and Rwanda's KFM will be "scaled down".
As such, this will lead to "job redundancies".
The affected media personalities will be presented with letters today.
