Jua Cali, Chipukeezy, Dazlah and MEG C Set To Perform At KEDIA (Kenyan Diaspora Awards - Dubai Chapter)

Kenyans in Dubai are set to soon crown their own Miss Kenya Dubai at an exclusive red carpet event , Kenya Diaspora (KEDIA) Awards on May 6th at the Spree Club, Royal Ascot Hotel, in Dubai's Burdubai area.

The event will see Kenyans working in that side of the Middle East acknowledge individuals and companies that have had an impact in their lives at the diaspora.

The event organized by Dubai based event Management Company, Global Links FZE will see top Kenyan Artistes in music and comedy grace the stage.

The King of Genge , Jua Cali is set to showcase while comedy fans will have the pleasure of watching comedian Chipukeezy live in action. Chipukeezy is back to Dubai due to great public demand after a very well attended concert late last year. 

"I love my diaspora fans, I am honored to perform there. Kenyans in Dubai have always been supportive of my work and i will take this as an opportunity to give back to them with a great performance" says Jua Cali, whose last performance in 2014 drew a full house crowd.

Dazlah, the top Mombasa based artiste is having his first shot at Dubai and promises to give his UAE fans a show of the year.

Categories set to feature at the event include , Company of the Year Award which will recognize the company that has contributed the most in improving the welfare of Kenyans in the UAE. Organizations nominated in this category include Banks, Cargo and Logistics companies, Airline, Money Transfer and Real Estate companies.

The Personality of the Year Award will go to a Kenyan individual who has done the most to assist Kenyans in the Diaspora while the Dubai based company that has been the best employer for Kenyans will scoop Employer of the Year Award.

"Voting started in February 2016 and so far over 15,000 Kenyans have taken part in the exercise. Our aim is to bring together Kenyans living in the UAE and help build Nationalism and Patriotism by recognising the efforts of each Kenyan in the Diaspora. Dubai is just the beginning, and next year we will announce where the next Chapter will be held. " says Gladys Koech, the Event Coordinator, Global Links FZE.

The event, a brainchild of Augustus Muli who is the CEO of Global Links FZE will also feature a pageant that will see Miss and Mr Kenya Dubai crowned, both of whom will be voted for by judges.

Prizes have been donated by major Real Estate companies in Kenya including Optiven Ltd and Ndatani Real Estate company who are the key sponsors of the event.
