MICHAEL JACKSON NAIROBI TRIBUTE TAKES OFF

On Saturday, King of Pop’s die-hard fans converged at the Carnivore for the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert organized by Rani Productions.
The headliner of the night was Mikki Jay, an International Tribute Solo Artist, “MJ’s” vocal and physical resemblances are seen to be like those of Michael Jackson.
Mikki got on stage at half past midnight draped in Michael Jackson signature military garb and performed Beat It.
Well, they say imitation is the best form of flattery and Mikki was a complete replica of the late star. The make up was eerily familiar to MJ’s but the body propotions were nothing like Michael’s, Mikkie was curvy.
Anyhow, the show saw other popular hits belted out by Michael’s look-a-like like Bad, Earth Song, Black or White, Smooth Criminal, Heal The World and Billy Jean.
The highlight of the night was supposed to be the Thriller performance but, the iconic dance steps were not choreographed to perfection.
Mikkie also performed Michael’s hits from his Jackson 5 days like I Want You Back, ABC and I’ll Be There.
The one-hour or so show ended with the disco tune Blame It on The Boogie.
Beside Mikie, Kenyan acts also brought their dancing shoes to the stage. Avril who donned a customized African military inspired outfit performed her set that included dance steps. Wyre the Love Child was joined on stage with the FBI dancers and they also brought the house down.
It may not have been an ideal Michael Jackson experience but, Mikki has mastered MJ’s mannerisms, hairstyle and voice tonations to a T.
