American actress Bethany Joy Galeotti better known to her fans by her screen name Haley is a sponsor to Leonida, a little girl who lives in Mombasa.
The One Tree Hill star who is also a singer, songwriter and director made the revelation in the beginning on July.
In Bethany’s blog she wrote, “She (Leonida) is a good friend of mine as I have had the privilege of being her sponsor for nearly 10 years through Compassion International (a Christian child advocacy ministry).
“She is a bright, funny, and beautiful young woman who loves God and her family deeply. In her letters she writes to me often about the water conditions in Kenya. Though they have recently had relief from an extended drought the water still needs to be purified properly in order to be digestible.
“Here are a couple organizations that are doing something about it The Kenya Water Wells Trust and the Foundation for Sustainable Development.”
To follow up on her commitment to provide clean water for Leonida and her peoples in the village
First of all the song is NOT on iTunes that was the whole point of her post.
ReplyDeleteShe released the song for FREE with the hope that fans would find it in their hearts to donate the 1.99 they would pay for the song to one of the charities she listed.
Also, what's up with the Mffffft...trying not to laugh? I don't get it.

I stand corrected. The reason for "the Mffffft...trying not to laugh" is because the western world still think we live in 'villages'. It is however nothing to do with Ms Bethany Joy Galeotti's commendable efforts.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I laugh at the "villages" bit, too.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's easier to make them believe we're still living in mud huts and half naked.
BTW, the water situation here IS pretty crappy. Thanks, Haley! I mean, Bethany!
