Eldoret
town was ignited with startling performances from nominated artists
ahead of this year’s Groove Awards with Safaricom that is to be
held on 1st June 2017.
The event hosted at Eldoret Sports Club on 21st May drew local artists from the Rift region and several national music stars nominated
in different categories.
The
crowd got steamed up by a performance from Eko Dydda’s two sons;
5-year-old ‘Keep It Real’ and 2-year-old ‘Am Blessed’ (their Pseudo
names)
as they curtain raised for their father. He later charmed the crowd
with his hit rap ‘Vidole’ sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Moses
Sirgoi a local artist in the Rift region also turned the crowd wild
with his local song ‘Abaibai Ane’ that is nominated in the Rift
Valley Counties’ song of the year category.
The
crowd was equally charged when Kelele Takatifu took the stage. Their
hit song ‘Bamba Mbaya’ seemed very popular as everyone danced to
its tune.
Apostle
Anthony Musembi asked the crowd to vote for his song ‘Ahadi za Bwana’
as the Worship Song of the year stressing that it aligns with
the Groove’s underlying theme of ‘#Going Back to Church’.
Size
8, Pitson and Mercy Masika also performed. The event left many Eldoret
residents wanting more and appreciating Safaricom for supporting
the Kenyan gospel industry.
