Kenyan Diva Dela Records Adele's Hello Rendition In Swahili

Dela Maranga has also added her voice to the Adele, Hello, cover bandwagon.

She has done it in a different way than the rest. She has sung the popular song in Swahili.

She posted on her Facebook: "Got to do this in an evening of randomness with my hommies Fancy Fingers, Webi and Andrew Ngatia. Now I get to share it with you."

Hot Thursday Madness: Habida Buries And Burns Her Ex...

Singer Habida has a new song out.

It is raw and revealing.

The song is about a heartbreak and how she gets over it.

The video is titled Keep On Walking.

It stars her looking down at an open car boot at a wrapped up body.

She then proceeds to drag out the body, drop it into a shallow grave and torches it.

Speaking a bout the song, Habida writes on Facebook, "A song close to my heart. Written to inspire all those who need to overcome their battle and KEEP ON WALKING!"

Sony has released his latest music video shot in South Africa earlier this year by acclaimed Nigerian director Sesan.

Titled Shoulder Back, the dancehall anthem is making big waves on radio in Kenya & Tanzania at the moment.

The video has also been playlisted on MTV Base, TRACE Africa and playing on East African Television.

The inaugural secret Diner En Blanc was held at Uhuru Gardens.

The turnout of white clad Nairobians was treated to a sumptuous dinner under the moon lit skies along Langata Road.

To be a member one pays weeks in advance. They are then picked at a designated spot and chauffeured to the secret location. This time the dinner was hosted at Uhuru Gardens.

Tickets were going for Sh7,000 per couple and they were sold on a first-come first-served basis as the set tables were limited to a certain number.

Willy Paul Defends His Condolences To Jamaican J Capri's Family

The music fraternity world over and fans of Jamaican singer J Capri have reacted to here death.

J Capri died at the University Hospital of the West Indies yesterday morning.

23-year-old J Capri, whose real name is Jordan Phillips, was in a coma since being involved in a motor vehicle accident in the Barbican area of St Andrew on November 23.

In Kenya, Sauti Sol sent out their  "heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and fans of Jamaican musician Jordan Philips AKA ‪#‎JCapri‬ who passed away earlier today, only 20 days before her 24th birthday which could've been on the 24th of Dec. Another great musician gone too soon! ‪#‎RIP."

However, gospel singer had to defend his condolences to Fans.

Willy Paul also left a message saying, "Rip Jcapri....gone too soon but God had a purpose for your demise...condolences from #teamWillyPaulMsafi."

A fan questioned Willy Paul's message saying, "Willy....please shut up.No justification for that.It's double life.You will deceive many young people to eternal destruction and separation from God's love.Being a Christian means imitating Christ in every aspect. Holistic and complete life.Working towards perfection.You are lost.May God forgive you.If you do gospel,then music is not just music as you say....there is a big difference"

Defending himself he said, "being a gospel artist doesn't mean i should not appreciate the work of the secular musicians...we all do music...stop thinking like ancestors"

Former TV Anchor Tells You Why You Should Root For Her...


Former swahili news anchor has taken up a spot on an ongoing TV reality show.

Ann Ngugi has signed up for KTN's The Ultimate Challege.

She gives her reasons for taking up the challenge. "I have joined the KTN ULTIMATE CHALLENGE SHOW as a celebrity guest having worked as a News Anchor and Reporter for 13 years and left active media 2 years ago and now being a subject and not the story teller has been an awesome humbling experience (sic)," she wrote.

She then gave an explaination why you should all root for her.

Jazz Giants Jet Into Kenya For Safaricom Jazz Lounge

Grammy Award winners Kirk Whalum and Norman Albright, as well as multiple Grammy Award Nominee Gerald Albright and upcoming star Sheléa have arrived in the country ahead of their performances at the Safaricom Jazz Lounge this Thursday.

The four, who arrived in Nairobi on Sunday evening and Monday morning together with their band, will perform at the series of concerts that will be held on 3rd and 5th December in Nairobi and Mombasa respectively.

“We are glad to have with us not one, but four, highly respected performers who will entertain music lovers this week when they take the stage at the Safaricom Jazz Lounge,” said Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore.

“We are also delighted to be showing our support for local jazz talent by having two of Kenya’s fastest rising jazz bands opening for the international acts.”

Edward Parseen and the Different Faces Band, and AfroSync will curtain raise for the international stars at the two concerts.

“We are very excited to be performing in Nairobi and are ready to deliver a memorable performance for our fans,” said Kirk Whalum. “We know that Kenyan jazz lovers have high expectations and we plan to deliver by performing some of our biggest hits including A Gospel According to Jazz, as we usher in the holiday season and celebrate both Kenyan and international jazz.”

To kick off their trip in Kenya the quartet will tour Ghetto Classics in Korogocho where they will interact with the members of the music programme, which seeks to provide music education to youth from underprivileged backgrounds.

Ghetto Classics is supported by Safaricom, which donates all proceeds from the Safaricom International Jazz Festival – which includes the Safaricom Jazz Lounge – to the programme.

Tickets to the Safaricom Jazz Lounge went on sale on Friday 20th November, and are retailing at Ksh.1,500 for advance tickets, Ksh.2,000 at the gate and Ksh.500 for students.

They are available from select Safaricom outlets (Sarit Centre, Thika Road Mall, Galleria Mall, Junction Mall, BuruBuru, Village Market, I&M and Nakumatt Mega in Nairobi, and Nyali and Rex Shop in Mombasa).

TV Reality Star, PHY Releases Debut Single, Ruka

Singer, songwriter and Maisha Superstar Season one winner, PHY has released a new song, Ruka.

Ruka is the title track for her new album Phylosophy which is set for release later in the week.

Ruka is a song for the free and fun loving individual that doesn't necessarily need to be in a club to have fun but pretty much anywhere.

It's that feel good song that lifts your spirits and by all means everyone is allowed to shout themselves hoarse every time the chorus comes on.

"I can't be the only one that locks myself in my room then jumps frantically on my bed to blaring music. Luckily I made us a theme song," says PHY.

PHY has featured Khaligraph Jones and King Kaka on this song.

"Working with King Kaka and Khaligraph on this record gave the song a dope feel and made it relatable to everyone across the board," adds PHY.

Ruka was produced by Timwork and the video was directed by Moses Osidiana of Brainworks.
