Happy Birthday Kenya - Song by Weusi ft Mansa Chusa

Hitz Republic, Weusi & Mansa Chusa present: Hongera, an Afro Trap patriotic song by Kenyan hiphop band: Weusi. It celebrates 50 years of Kenya as a republic.

The song’s instrumental features a heavy African influence on the drums and guitars.

Hongera starts of as a slow ballad then transitions to a mish mash of trap and afro beat before finally getting back to a hiphop groove in the second verse. Bilari starts off the song with his unique blend of Swahili and Sheng with Mchizi Gaza taking up the baton on the chorus.

We all know Gaza from his days at Ukoo Flani and Wenyeji and he’s without a doubt one of Kenya and East Africa’s talented vocalists.

He delivers the hook methodically in pure Swahili to give the song that cross audience appeal. In come the second verse where the Bowy brothers, Mzee Mzima (aka Pesa Nyingi) and Dane (aka WiseGuy) hold it down for Mombasa and Diani to be specific.

The song is executively produced by Mansa Chusa and was recorded at Swahili Studios in Nairobi, Kenya.
