Sunny Boy grew up dreaming of making music that touched people’s hearts.
Four albums later, the darling of the Namibian rap scene has been making it happen now for nearly a decade. His fusion of sounds from genres like Kwaito and Hip Hop led to the creation of his own unique ‘Hikwa Style’ – a mix of tight Kwaito beats with a Hip Hop flow. With hits like Balance, Serious, Summertime and Heat It Up, Sunny Boy has established himself as a serious player on the continental rap scene.
The Namibian rising star has won a host of awards, including an NBC Music Award and Namibia Music Awards and lent his fame to greater causes, like the Namibia Red Cross Society and Special Olympics Namibia.
In addition to Sunny Boy’s performance, DStv viewers can look forward to Africa’s film stars, Jackie Appiah from Ghana and Nigerian actor OC Okeje as judges in the Big Brother house for this week’s task on Thursday.
The duo will also make a special appearance at the eviction show on Sunday.
Appiah won the inaugural AfricaMagic Viewers Choice Award for Best Actress – Drama award for her role in Perfect Picture, while Ukeje picked up the Best Actor – Drama award for Two Brides and a Baby.
Tune in to get your dose of continental glamour this Sunday, with Sunny Boy, Jackie Appiah and OC Ukeje - and don’t forget to vote to keep your favourite housemate in the game! The housemates in danger of eviction this week are Annabel, Elikem and Sulu. Voting is open right now and closes at 06:00 CAT on Sunday morning.
