The seventh annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) took place over the weekend, with surprise guests, gracious winners, glitz and glamour the order of the night.

American actor Samuel L. Jackson handed out two awards as the surprise presenter of the night, while live performances from the likes of Zaki Ibrahim, Zakes Bantwini, The Muffinz and Khaya Mthethwa kept those in attendance entertained. 

Days before the awards, the Hollywood superstar played golf at Telkom PGA Championship pro-am at Country Club Johannesburg.
