The story of one man’s fierce ambition to build the next great African oil and energy dynasty has been told against the backdrop of vicious family feuds, heart-breaking betrayal and hard-won triumph.

Dramatic and provocative but always entertaining, JACOB’S CROSS has woven a tale of wealth, power and success around the fascinating idea of chasing, challenging and changing one’s destiny.

This month, JACOB’S CROSS – THE FINAL SEASON begins on AfricaMagic Entertainment on DStv on Monday October 15 at 11:30PM and viewers should not miss this gripping final installment as the incredible story of Jacob Makhubu Abayomi comes to a close.

“What a fascinating journey we’ve shared with Jacob over the past few years!” says M-Net Africa Managing Director Biola Alabi. “Audiences have watched him discover his identity, grow from a young man into a tough leader, find his own successes, fight for his survival and test the limits of his character, his relationships and his aspirations. This is a drama that delivered fantastic storylines again and again.”

She goes on: “It’s always sad to say goodbye to a sensational series like this, characters this vivid and memorable, but the time has come to finish the story of Abayomi’s and the Makhubu’s, their friends and their partners. We’re comfortable it is the right time for this polished and well-told story to conclude, and while we will miss them, it is time for new stories and new characters. But you can bet that JACOB’S CROSS will have some twists and turns before the final credits are played so keep watching!”

Created by The Bomb Shelter production company for M-Net, JACOB’S CROSS debuted in Africa in January 2007. In its six year run on television the series has gained fame and respect in equal measure thanks to the efforts of a dedicated production team and talented cast. Noting this, Alabi congratulated the team saying, “I really want to thank them for their creative vision and hard work, this show is one that they can be extremely proud of.”

Starring Hlomla Dandala as Jacob, the series also boasted the talents of Moky Makura (Folake), Anthony Bishop (Prospero), Fabian Lojede (Bola), Nandi Nyembe (Thembi) and Jet Novuka (Andile).
