MTV Award winning gospel singer, Daddy Owen has promised to give Sh2 million of the Kisima prize money for the Artiste of the Year category to a charity, if he wins.
The Mbona star has been nominated five times in this year's Kisima Music Awards for his song featuring blind artiste Denno.
He tweeted: "Verdict frm my fans! If i win the awards i gv them 2Denno, if i win the 2m i gv Denno 1m n the other 1m goes to #MbonaCampaign."
This comes after he gave up his nominations for both Chaguo La Teeniez Awards and Groove Awards saying, "This year I want to leave it for the other artistes."
He told Hot Secrets that the reason for his change of mind is because "my fans love and support the song i did with Denno (Mbona). It is only wise for me to accept the nomination as well as do it for Denno and the cause."
He added that the Mbona Campaign will be starting countrywide tours around the country "visiting special schools/individuals and to support their initiatives with cash."
He will be battling it out for the Sh2 million with other top acts nominated in the Artiste/Group of the Year category.
They are Camp Mulla, Emmy Kosgei, Nonini, Nameless and Octopizzo. The award ceremony is set for November 2 at the KICC from 7pm.
