East African Breweries Limited this weekend hosted its staff to a fun filled launch event of the soccer themed game show, the Guinness Football Challenge season 3 at the company’s grounds.
The staff were given an opportunity to form teams of two to test their knowledge in skills and knowledge in football and demonstrate their passion for the world’s favorite sport.
The event presented a simulation of recruitment event where the staff were taken through some of the activities that will be carried out during the recruitment events that will take place in the 3 major towns in kenya to select contestants who will represent the country in the Pan African edition.
This year up to 250,000 USD in prize money is up for grabs in the contest that will draw teams from eight African countries including: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Cameroon, Ghana, Gabon, Cote d’ Ivoire and Senegal. The winners from each country will then compete in a television game show that will be aired in 2013.
Speaking during the launch, EABL Kenya Marketing Director Caroline Ndung’u said “ As we launch the Guinness Football Challenge Season 3 to the football fans and our consumers , we also want to give an opportunity to our staff to experience what the project is about because charity begins at home”
The event featured electrifying performances from Avril and Marya.
This year, the Guinness Football Challenge Season 3 will feature contestants from 8 African countries. The winners from Kenya will compete against those from Uganda and Tanzania. This year, contestants will be shortlisted from three recruitment events. The first recruitment event will take place in Mombasa on the 20th of October.
