ZUKU SECURES RIGHTS TO BROADCAST LIGUE 1

East Africa’s homegrown Pay-Tv operator Zuku, has secured rights to broadcast Ligue 1 football tourney’s for the next three season.

Zuku Sports will broadcast Five LIVE and short delay matches from each of the 38 rounds. The matches will be air exclusively on Zuku Sport Channels.

Announcing the deal, Wananchi Group Programming Managing Director Hannelie Bekker said “We can now confirm that ZUKU has obtained extensive rights to the next three years of Ligue 1 (French League). We will be carrying 4 - 5 game per round, either LIVE or short-delayed, EXCLUSIVE to Zuku Sports”.


Ms Bekker added that Setanta Africa, which broadcast on Zuku will carry another 2 games per week.

The games are supplemented by a preview show (Thursdays 5pm & Fridays 9pm) and a highlights show (Mondays 18:30), both on Zuku Sports.

This season Montpellier will be aiming to defend their title but will face stiff competition from big spending Paris St Germain.

PSG have been busy in the transfer market signing some of the world’s marquee players including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
