JAMAICAN ACT CLINTON FEARON FOR OCTOBER CONCERT

One Vibe Entertainment in conjunction with Grandpa Records will next month play host to Jamaican star Clinton Fearon in Kisumu, Kenya. Clinton will be the headlining act at two events, the first of which is a VIP show on October 5 at the Sunset Hotel. This will then be followed by the main show at Central Square still in Kisumu.

Clinton will be joined on stage by DNA, Shamir and Soul Afrique. The night's emcees will be Refigah and Fundi Frank.

Woody-voiced ex-Gladiator Clinton's superb 2010 album 'Mi Deh Yah' (I'm here) was a high point in his solo career and told us unflinchingly what makes him tick. It would have been hard to follow such a definitive statement about his present so now the Seattle-based veteran has turned back to the past with an acoustic set of songs he wrote while in the Gladiators.

Fearon's songwriting style values plain speaking rather than the proverbial words of his erstwhile colleague Albert Griffiths. The vocals are very clear against this backdrop and his messages and melodies have ample room to breathe.
