CMC MOTORS SUPPORTS THE SAFARICOM SEVENS WITH KSH 1.3 MILLION

Leading vehicle outlet CMC Motors on Wednesday 12 September 2012 unveiled its sponsorship package for the 2012 Safaricom Sevens, slated to take place at the Nyayo National Stadium between 21-23 September 2012.

Speaking during the function, CMC Managing Director Solomon Muturi said, " Our sponsorship of this event mirrors the fun, outgoing nature of our brands which include Land Rover, Jaguar, Volkswagen, Ford, Suzuki and others which are familiar names in Kenya and the entire East African region. Sport, as you all know, brings out the competitive and resilient spirit of humanity in a unique that fosters friendship among, individuals, communities and nations. Sport exemplifies human achievement at its best."

"For this reason, we have made a firm commitment to support this year’s Safaricom Sevens as a responsible corporate citizen.
CMC Motors has taken up bronze sponsorship for the tournament to the tune of Ksh 1.3 million. Ksh 1 million will go directly to the Safaricom Sevens kitty. Ksh300,000 will go to meeting the costs of transporting the teams."

Kenya Rugby Union Chairman Mwangi Muthee noted the longstanding association between CMC and rugby, observing that they had through CMC Engineering in previous years supported fabrication of scrum machines. He also observed the similar traits between some of CMC's brands such as Land Rover, which is renowned for its resillience, a trait prevalent in rugby players.

KRU Vice Chairman Sasha Mutai, who also doubles up as the Safaricom Sevens Organizing Committee Chairman expressed his appreciation to CMC Motors for their timely sponsorship.
