DNA FOR DUBAI SHOW

This year's AfroUrban Connexion - E.African Edition will feature a star studded lineup of DNA from Kenya,King James - Rwanda and on the decks VJ Bisosso from Bujumbura.

Set for Friday 31st August at Music Room - Majestic Hotel, Dubai, get ready for DNA's performances of his hit songs like Maswali ya Polisi, Banjuka, Una, Mtoto wa Sonko, among other tracks.

King James is the current top selling singing sensation and he will debut his middle east performance doing his top tracks like Buhoro Buhoro, Ndakwizera, Ese Warikiniraga...

On the decks VJ Bisosso will be doing LIVE video mixing of popular all the reggae tunes from Roots, Calypso, Soca, Dancehall as well as RnB, HipHop, Afromix, Genge, Bongo Flava, Naija Flava and many more.

Meet the three stars DNA - KENYA

DNA stands for 'Dreams And Ambitions (DNA)' can be remembered for his 2006 club banger 'Banjuka' which took over East Africa by storm. Born Denis Kaggia on 19th January, DNA is a rapper from Kenya who burst into the African music scene in 2007 with the release of his hit single "Banjuka".

The hip hop song skyrocketed to the top of the charts and was a major club favorite across the region. In 2009, DNA collaborated with artists such as Kambua and Isaac Kahura, to create a hip-hop meets dancehall meets vernacular song "Mtoto wa Sonko", that's popular amongst many music fans. DNA is currently working on his debut album.

When people think of Rwanda, they typically think of the genocide that occurred there in 1994. However, over the past decade and a half the Rwandan people have worked very hard to rebuild their country.

Today, Rwanda is doing extremely well as a country and this has led to a vibrant music industry in Kigali, the capital city. Hip-hop and is become extremely popular in Rwanda, and love songs seem to be Rwandans favorite types of songs to sing and listen to. He is this year's winner for the PGGSS II singing talent competition in Rwanda.

King James is Rwanda's favorite contemporary music of the modern genres era and is arguably Rwanda's most preffered artist.

He started his music career while he was a student at Ecole APE Rugunga, in 2009. As a young boy, King James' dream was to become a footballer but later got inspired by American R&B musician Brandy and ended up giving music a try. He has shared a stage with top RnB names like Jason Derulo among others.

VJ BISOSSO - BURUNDI

Be it HipHop, RnB, Feel Good Music, VJ Bissoso is Africa's renowned music ambassador in the Great Lakes Region. He has performed widely in Rwanda, his hometown Bujumbura-Burundi and is a household name in Kampala,Uganda.

His trade is latest using video mixing to enhance performance in his craft. He has performed for various world artists including Sean Kingston, Fally Ipupa, Jason Derulo among others. He'll be on the decks doing LIVE Video Mixing all the Reggae Tunes from Roots, Calypso, Soca, Dancehall as well as RnB, HipHop, Afromix, Genge, Bongo Flava, Naija Flava and many more.
