USHER IN CONCERT IN JO’BURG, SOUTH AFRICA


 

Five-time Grammy Award winner, Usher Raymond is set to headline the Hansa Festival of Legends to be held at the Orland Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg on Saturday March 10 2012. South Africa has seen some great artists over the past year, but Usher is a powerhouse, one of the biggest legends in the pop scene and is expected to electrify the audience. 


Usher will be curtain-raised by the winners of the on-going talent scout competition sponsored by SAB Miller. Over the past four months, 30 contestants selected from a cross section of South Africa’s top rising urban music stars have been competing for the opportunity to curtain raise for this best-selling R&B artist when he performs in Johannesburg. The six regional winners were revealed on 24 February. One artist from each region will go on to open for Usher at the festival. 
South Africans have been voting for their preferred Contestants who are judged on criteria that include hook, originality, catchiness, energy and relevance to their market. Rappers are evaluated on their delivery, lyricism and originality, while vocalists will set themselves apart through their voice and song-writing abilities.

Usher released his debut album in 1994. His biggest hits include U Make Me Wanna, U Remind Me, Confessions, Yeah and OMG. His latest album Raymond V. Raymond became his third consecutive album to debut at number one on the US Billboard chart. To date, he has sold over 65 million records worldwide, making him one of the Best-selling music artists of all time.
