JUA CALI HEADLINES AT MEJJA’S HOMEGROUND IN NYERI

The King of Genge, Jua Cali was in Nyeri over the weekend for the Sprite Urban Expression. The event was hosted at the St Mary’s High school opposite to Majengo Slum in Nyeri town - where rapper Mejja has lived all his life.
Impressed was he with the massive talent in the area. Jua Cali said, “I am stunned by Joseph Waithaka’s performance. He is Calif Records material. I am glad to see that Nyeri young men have taken the footsteps of Mejja.”
The Bidii Yangu hitmaker put up a performance besides one of the new acts from Nyeri Joseph Waithaka a.k.a Wafiti.
Wafiti who won the freestyle battle promised, like Mejja, he will put Nyeri in the musical map. “I am not going to let down my town in the finals. I am encouraging the youth in Nyeri and other towns to showcase their talent without any fear since it can be a ladder to success in their lives.”

In the Graffiti category Patrick Rukwaro emerged the winner. The regional winners will meet in Nairobi for the National finals both in Freestyle and Graffiti competitions. The top freestyle act wins a recording contract for a single at Calif Records.
