American singer Alicia Keys is funding the building of two schools in Rakai District, Uganda. The progress of completing the two schools is currently in the final stages, according to the Ugandan media. Alicia is known in East Africa for her campaign for HIV/Aids prevention. The completion of the schools will benefit at least 500 orphaned pupils who have been affected by the Aids scourge. The will be offered full board accommodation with meals for free.
Alicia, who is the Co-Founder and Global Ambassador of Keep A Child live, believes Aids treatment and realistic prevention measures go hand-in-hand and must become equally accessible worldwide.
