CAJETAN BOY’S DEAD TALK PLAY TO PREMIERE

Playwright and filmmaker Cajetan Boy will be premiering his new play Dead Talk that is directed by Caroline Odongo.
It is about Noah (Salim Gitao) and Paco (Joe Kinyua) attendants at the City Morgue, where they meet with Miles (Samson Psenjen), Baraka (Andrew Muthure), Nayla (Sharon Nytte) and Lucilla (Lydia Gitachu) who are all dead. Their spirits speak to them and they get to discover what happened just before they died.
Miles was ready to leave this world as he had made peace with his maker though he also admits that he made a mistake, which he is paying for through death.
Baraka, likewise, knows he lived recklessly and deserved to die, but did he have a choice in the matter? He on the other hand, cannot believe that he was shot 12 times when he wakes up in a morgue and meets Miles.
Nayla, a 21 year old, took a life and in the process she also died. She cannot believe this. It only seemed to have happened a few minutes ago!
Lucilla did anything and everything within her powers to make ends meet, including double-cross and betrayal. When she wakes up to find herself in a morgue, she thinks someone is playing a trick on her! Life was so good she is not ready to die! She still has so much to live for.
The two morgue attendants, Noah and Paco analyse the meanings of life and death, from the perspective of the living as they attend to the bodies of Miles, Baraka, Nayla and Lucilla who are just waiting to be planted six feet under.
In this play, Cajetan humorously delves into the after world and explores the thoughts, feelings and questions we would probably have if we were to literally speak from the grave.

THE PREMIERE OF THE KENYAN COMEDY “MATATU GIRL”

After the successful premiere of the Kenyan comedy Me, My Wife and her Guru - a parody on the Esther Arunga- Hellon saga - now, Jitu Films and Capri 7 are extending their partnership to promote yet another movie from the movie production house.
The premiere for Kenyan comedy Matatu Girl is set for Easter Sunday. The movie's cast includes TV stars Like Jackie Nyaminde of Papa Shirandula and Lydia Gitachu formerly of Tahidi High.
The movie is about Fridah (Nyaminde), a young modern Kenyan girl who has just received her University acceptance letter - her life long dream.
However, her dad (Ian Kamburu) refuses to pay for her tuition fees and pressures her to get married instead to a rich Niaja Broda and be a "good housewife like she ought to".



Fridah, ignores her fathers well laid plans and decides she will pay her own way through university, come rain or shine. She secretly looks for a job to fulfil her dream - after many
unsuccessful job interviews Fridah accept a position as a matatu tout...
The cast also includes Samuel Odoyo, Kevin Onyango, Boniface Loppoh and Lulu Abdallah Said. It is directed by Billy Mbilikimo and written by Wanjiru Kairu.
The screening will be done outdoors at Capri 7 on Jabavu Road, Kilimani) and after the premiere

After the success of the screening of our first Kenyan Ghost Film Haunted on the October 1, Jitu Films are going to make another screening of the same movie.
This time together with Nairobi Utumishi Rotary Club are organising a Special Halloween Fundraising screening on October 30, 7pm at Capital Center Fox Cinemas, Mombasa road.
The tickets will cost Sh 500 and the funds will go towards a Free Medical Camp that Nairobi Utumishi Rotary Club will run in Kibera this coming November (more info about this camp will follow).
Haunted is a spooky kenyan ghost story about Wairimu, a writer who needs some inspiration and in order to overcome her writers block, she decides to follow her brother and his three friends to a field trip adventure in an empty huge house where they used to live when they were very young kids. But the house keeps some secrets that only Wairimu knows. But sooner than later the secrets come forward with the help of a ghostly guest.




Lydia Gitachu is the secretive writer, starring together with David Lomunyak, Boniface Loppoh, Brenda Mwai, Methu Muthoni and guest appearance by Pinky Ghelani. The film is directed by Oskari Korenius and produced by Jitu Films.
Jitu Films are showing their social face and co-operate once more with Rotary International, the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.
With this co-operation we are trying to say that we can use the arts and in particular movies not only for entertainment but also for bringing awareness to the public and also helping our fellow citizens. We hope that more of these screenings will happen as in the same time showcasing local film talent but also helping a good cause.

JITU FILMS TO SCREEN FIRST GHOST MOVIE IN KENYA

Jitu Films will screen the first ever ghost movie on October 1 at the 20th Century Cinemas from 5pm.
The guarded online promos for the Secret Movie Screening is for their latest production release, Haunted.
The movie stars Lydia Gitachu, David Lomunyak, Boniface Loppoh, Brenda Mwai, Methu Muthoni and guest appearance by Pinky Ghelani.
