Mr Edi Gathegi is dating. According to online sources, Edi is seeing Soprano actress Jamie Lynn Siegler.

WILL EDI GATHEGI BE THE NEW DR CUDDY IN HOUSE

Kenyan born actor Edi Gathegi now based in the USA might just be looking at a new role in the medical drama House as the new Dean of Medicine at Princeton Plainsboro. Dr Cuddy who was played the role of both boss and love interest to Hugh Laurie’s Dr. House has left the show.
TVLine reported that it will in fact be someone viewers already know. Although it hasn’t been revealed who will be getting the big job at Princeton Plainsboro, it will be one of seven possibilities. Edi who played Dr Jeffrey Cole is one of them.



The names mentioned as the possibilities are:
Dr. Jeffrey Cole, played by Edi Gathegi, who was another contestant in the hiring competition but was cut for siding with Cuddy.
Dr. James Wilson, played by Robert Sean Leonard, Dr. House’s long-suffering best friend.
Dr. Eric Foreman, played by Omar Epps, an original member of House’s team who once actually was his boss for a brief time.
Dr. Robert Chase, played by Jesse Spencer, another original team member with questionable ethics.



Dr. Chris Taub, played by Peter Jacobsen, who managed to make the cut when House decided to make hiring a new team member into a strange competition.
Dr. Sam Carr, played by Cynthia Watros, ex-wife to Dr. James Wilson and not exactly a favorite person of Dr. House.
And finally, Edward Vogler, played by Chi McBride, whose brief stint as the man in charge at Princeton Plainsboro left some serious bad blood between him and Dr. House.

EDI GATHEGI IN TRUE BLOOD ACTOR NELSAN’S DIRECTED MOVIE

Kenyan born actor, Edi Gathegi will be part of the cast for a short film titled Page 36 directed by actor Nelsan Elis. This is Nelsan’s first attempt behind the camera.
The film synopsis reads:

“Roman Wilson is a two time felon recently released from prison. Faced with no positive prospects for employment and a terminally ill child, he is recruited by a company that promises immediate wealth and a new way of life for his family languishing in poverty, but at what cost?”

The film will debut on the film festival circuit later this year, so it’s not available to view online yet. But you can check out the trailer below. The short film features stars like Roger Guenveur Smith and Sidney Poitier’s daughter, Sydney Tamiia Poitier.

EDI GATHEGI ON X-MEN: FIRST CLASS CHARACTER – DARWIN

Edi Gathegi who plays Darwin in the upcoming X-Men: First Class movie talked a bit about his character to Italian website Comicus.
In the recent interview the Kenyan born actor now based in the US said, “My character’s mutant ability is reactive adaptation. For instance if I fall from a building my bones turn to rubber. Or if the lights go out I have perfect vision in the pitch black. Or if I happen to get catapulted into outer space, my body no longer requires oxygen. That sort of thing. And the list is as extensive as the need to survive.”



The prequel which charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga stars an all star cast including James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Lucas Till, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Kevin Bacon, Jason Flemyng, Rose Byrne and Oliver Platt.
The movie is set for a June 2 release.

EDI GATHEGI TO STAR IN X MEN

Kenyan born Edi Gathegi, who played an evil vampire Laurent in Twilight, has been cast in X-Men: First Class in the role of Darwin, a mutant with the power of "reactive evolution" which allows him to adapt to any situation or environment. Plunged underwater, he'll grow gills, he'll gain night vision in pitch black and his skin grows fire retardant when burned.
Edi is joining a cast comprised of James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Alice Eve as Emma Frost, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Caleb Landry Jones as Banshee and Lucas Till as Havoc. Kevin Bacon is playing the villain.
X-Men: First Class is directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) and is scheduled to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2011.
The character is actually a recent creation, first appearing in the X-Men: Deadly Genesis comic book mini-series just four years ago.

KENYAN IN TWILIGHT SAGA’S NEW MOON

Kenyan actor based in America Edi Mue Gathegi is on the sequel of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Edi plays Laurent, a bloodthirsty vampire who feasts on human blood but gets killed in the end by other werewolves. It officially opens in US theatres tomorrow but the highly anticipated movie and its cast got a red carpet treatment on Monday on its Los Angeles premiere.
However, controversy is brewing over the 30-year-old actor being cast as Laurent. At the roundtable interviews during a recent press junket for the film in Los Angeles he said, “I saw that they (fans) were really disappointed in my casting because it was not a black vampire who was written in Stephenie Meyer’s mythology. But there was an olive-complexioned vampire. So I decided to address the issue head on and I said, ‘There are many different types of olive. I’m a black olive.”
Edi also plays Deputy Martin in My Bloody Valentine, his first lead role, which came out January 16. It is a 1980s horror remake and it is in 3-D. You also remember him well for his appearances as Dr Jeffrey Cole in the television series House.
