ANTHONY B BLAZES UP NAIROBI TOWN

Jamaican reggae act Anthony Bishop was in town for two performances, the first of which was in Nairobi on Friday and the second in Mombasa’s Big Tree on Saturday.
The Friday show hosted at KICC on Friday night, saw the crowd started trickling in at midnight show but the Bobo Shanti star hit the stage a little after 2am to a full house in the venue’s Plenary Hall.

The curtain raisers were Haile Selassie Foundation Band from Kibera, Jah Watch Man and Dohty Family’s Daddy Konya.
Anthony B, who was in the country for his first ever show, expressed his appreciation for the Kenyan hospitality and weather. He said that there was no God in Jamaica giving reference to the violence in his home country due to the unruly dominating street gangs.

He told the surging crowd that he sort refuge in music and thus his success. And of course the singer defended the ‘holy herb’ saying that no Rastafarian in Jamaica smoked cigarettes but ganja.

His energetic performance lasted a good one and a half hours as he enthralled the reggae enthusiast with his hits like Real Warrior, Peace, Whip Dem Jah Jah, Smoke Free, Police and Raid the Barn.
