Iconic Tanzanian actor Steven Kanumba is set to be buried on
Tuesday, April 10 in Dar es Salaam after his death hours before Good Friday.
According to the police, Kanumba (28) was fell down and hit
his head on the concrete wall and passed out on the spot after a tussle
with his girlfriend Elizabeth Lulu Michael.
Lulu told the police Kanumba had picked a quarrel with her
after they had arrived home at about 1am, over a telephone call she had
received a short while earlier, TZ media reports.
The police chief said investigations were still in the initial stages, and as such, it was too early to draw conclusions on the cause of the death, but promised to issue a detailed statement upon completion of the exercise.

Social media was abuzz with fans and celebrities sending
their condolences to the family of Kanumba.
The President, Jakaya Kikwete in a statement said, “I have
received the news about Kanumba’s death with shock and sadness. Through his
films, he entertained and educated our society in a way that cannot be
measured. I join all of you to pray to God that He rests the deceased in
eternal peace.”
Naija actor Ramsey Nouah also sent condolence messages to
his family. Ramsey co-stared with Kanumba in his self-produced 2011 movie,
Devil Kingdom.
