And Miss Tourism Taita Taveta Is .... Anna Wughanga


Business Administration student is the newly crowned  Miss Tourism Taita Taveta.

21-year-old, Anna Olila Wughanga beat 13 other contestants in a beauty pageant that showcased the county’s beauty, pride and cultural heritage.

The first Runners-up prize went to 25-year-old Clemence Mwashala while that of the Second Runners-up position was taken by 20-year-old Mary Ndunda.

Miss Tourism Taita Taveta will also be required to undertake activities that highlight the plight of women and the girl-child in the county. She will join winners from other counties to contest the national crown during the Miss Tourism Kenya finals, which will take place in Nairobi in December.

Taita Taveta is home to some of the unique tourist attraction sites in the county including the Mzima Springs, Volcanic Lake Challa, Taita Hills that can be used for cable cars and the battlefields of the First World War.

It also boasts of the Kenyatta Caves that the late President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta used to hide in and meet other freedom fighters at the height of Mau Mau uprising and, the unique butterflies in Kasigau Hills.
